Abigails February Speaker Series - Dr. Otis S. Johnson

This February, the Skidaway Abigails are honored to feature Dr. Otis S. Johnson, a renowned political official and civic leader whose lifelong dedication to social justice, education, and leadership has shaped both Savannah and the state of Georgia.

Recognized as one of Georgia Trend’s Most Influential Georgians and recently honored with the renaming of the Savannah Cultural Arts Center as the Otis S. Johnson, Ph.D. Cultural Arts Center, Dr. Johnson’s contributions span decades of progress and public service. As the first African American to attend Armstrong State University and the second African American Mayor of Savannah from 2002 to 2012, this event offers an extraordinary opportunity to hear firsthand about the civil rights movement from a true pioneer.
